About SAE
Founded
in 1904, The Society of Automotive
Engineers believed that sharing knowledge could bring up common progress
and evolution in the field of engineering automobiles on ground and in the air.
The then automobile engineers and technical experts realized this sine qua non
and gathered to form a platform where they could share knowledge and improvise
it. The society came up with many standards in designing and production
engineering. These standards are called SAE
Standards and helped various industries to minimize their retail costs in a
large scale. From then on, SAE started growing to become SAE INTERNATIONAL. The society also recognized the potential
development it can cause by involving students and started numerous programs
demonstrating practical on field experiences and inspiring excellence among
students. One can understand the renown of this society if they knew the fact
that the Wright brothers were given The
SAE Award for the best paper on aircrafts.

SAE
INDIA is a similar kind of a non profit organization, serving the same purpose.
It is established in 1994 and got affiliated to SAE INTERNATIONAL in 2002. It
also empowers students in the realtime automobile fabrication environment by
conducting these competitions,
